A team is comprised of students attending the same school in the same building. A minimum of 2 players from the same school are required to make a team, but there is no maximum. Top 3 scores from each team will be added together to determine team standings. Team trophies are typically presented by the players to school principal or head of school to be displayed.
After 9am, rounds will begin ASAP, but players will have breaks between rounds. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to remain on-site, as Diplomat Chess will not be supervising players in the cafeteria between games. Snacks and lunch (peanut and nut-free) are allowed in the cafeteria. Water only in the playing hall.
There will be a coach in the cafeteria for game analysis between rounds, and this is a great way to identify mistakes and missed opportunities. If players want the opportunity to review their recently completed game, they need to learn how to take chess notation (the recording of moves). Here is a good primer.
